Miami Dolphins Surprise North Miami Senior High School Girls’ Flag Football Team With New Gear

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – The Miami Dolphins surprised the North Miami Senior High School girls’ flag football team. The organization rolled up a box truck full of gear for the girl’s team. All of this was made possible by the Junior Dolphins Spring Donation and with the help of the Dade County Federal Union and 305 Drinks on Me. We have equipment that is actually going to improve their game on and off the field, said Aaron Harris the Dolphins Manager of Youth Programs. “It’s going to improve their body, their mental capacity, and everything like that. But really we wanted to surprise them with brand new uniforms.” The girls jumped up and down, as the Pioneers team was presented with brand new green jerseys.

305 Checkdown Small Business Assist

The Miami Dolphins, in partnership with Dade County Federal Credit Union, created the 305 Checkdown Small Business Assist to assist those located in Miami-Dade who have been impacted by COVID-19. Through the program, selected businesses not only won financial support from the credit union but also gained brand awareness and exposure through a variety of Miami Dolphins marketing platforms.

Dade County Federal Now Official Credit Union of Miami Dolphins

We recently renewed our marketing partnership with the Miami Dolphins, and the credit union is now the “Official Credit Union of the Miami Dolphins.” The growing, multi-year arrangement relationship enables us to continue year-round initiatives featuring member, community, and marketing programs with the oldest major-league professional sports franchise in the state of Florida.

“We couldn’t be more pleased to expand our partnership with the Miami Dolphins,” said George Joseph, CEO of Dade County Federal. “We have worked closely with the team to strengthen bonds with current and potential credit union members, and we are proud to work with an organization that helps us champion financial literacy in Miami-Dade County.”

Dade County Federal will serve as an official partner on a variety of Miami Dolphins events, including some surrounding youth financial education and food relief for the local community. The credit union will also have a significant online presence with the team, such as the 305 Checkdown Small Business Program, which awards selected businesses in the Miami area with financial assistance and brand awareness through a variety of Miami Dolphins platforms. As part of the continued partnership, we will continue to hold car sale events at Hard Rock Stadium.

“The Miami Dolphins are excited for this extended opportunity with Dade County Federal that will both maximize our efforts in the South Florida community and enhance the fan experience,” Miami Dolphins Vice President of Corporate Partnerships Steve Mullins said. “Through this partnership renewal, we look forward to continuing and developing new programs geared towards making this community healthier, more educated and united.”

Dolphins fans will have access to special programs and promotions including merchandise giveaways and the opportunity to receive Dolphins tickets. In addition, Dolphins players and staff will continue to have access to the full array of Dade County Federal’s financial services offerings.

“Even during a global pandemic, we have seen that sports unites communities,” said Mauricio Morales, senior vice president of marketing and information technology for Dade County

Federal. “We look forward to a long and successful relationship with the team and to expanding our outreach to more fans when the stadium is full, hopefully soon.”

Good luck to our Miami Dolphins on their 2020 season!

Miami Dolphins Take Elementary School Students to Halloween Shop with A Fin Presented by Dade County Federal Credit Union

AVENTURA, FL. Oct. 23, 2019 – Miami Dolphins players Chandler Cox, Andrew Van Ginkel, Davon Godchaux, Jonathan Ledbetter, Chris Myarick, Nik Needham and Isaiah Prince, cheerleaders, T.D. and staff in partnership with Dade County Federal Credit Union took students from Coral Cove Elementary in Broward County and North Miami Elementary from Miami Dade County costume shopping at Spirit Halloween in Aventura on Wednesday afternoon.  “We want to make financial literacy as synonymous with the fall as football and Halloween,” Dade County Federal Credit Union Vice President of Marketing and Information technology Mauricio Morales said. “We are pleased to work with the Dolphins to make this event both fun and educational for the kids.”  “When you walk in here and the kids are coming off the bus and they see us in these jerseys, we don’t think it but it’s a big deal,” Miami Dolphins DE Jonathan Ledbetter said. “When you see kids that are that young, you have an impression on them. We are at a position where we impact people no matter what we do. We are a symbol and the Miami Dolphins, the NFL and us as individuals with our brands; it’s important and leaves an everlasting impression on these kids connecting and having an impact on them just by being here.”

Selected by their school principal, the 50 participating students ages 5-8 years old also received a lesson on financial literacy from Dade County Federal Credit Union to learn the importance of financial responsibility prior to the event. “This is a wonderful opportunity for my students that is both educational and fun!  I am extremely grateful for this partnership,” North Miami Elementary School Principal Dr. Deborah Darbonne said.  “I am thrilled our students experienced such a unique opportunity. Thank you to everyone who makes this partnership possible, and for making a difference in the lives of our students at Coral Cove Elementary School,” Coral Cove Elementary School Principal Stephanie A. Saban said.

This event is part of an ongoing series of the #DolphinsHuddlefor100 service projects as part of the NFL’s 100th celebration. The NFL has invited fans, players, clubs and employees to join Huddle for 100, an effort to inspire 1 million people to volunteer 100 minutes of their time to make meaningful contributions to their communities. These activities are in connection with the Miami Dolphins’ initiative to level the playing field through the power of teamwork to inspire a healthier, more educated and united South Florida community.
