A Message From Our President

As we look ahead to the year 2022, I can honestly say that I've never been prouder of my affiliation with Dade County Federal Credit Union. The past 21 months brought unprecedented levels of uncertainty, but thankfully we have endured what we hope has been the worst of the Covid-19 global pandemic. Our Credit Union has not only survived but also thrived as we maintained our traditionally strong balance sheet while our employees, executive team, and Members showed incredible resilience. I'm incredibly optimistic about the upcoming year.

I want everyone to know that we will continue to keep a close eye on the status of the pandemic and how the virus is impacting our community. We continue to encourage everyone eligible to get vaccinated and to also get the booster shot. I also believe it is important that anyone who wants to wear a mask and practice social distancing should feel comfortable doing so. While we don't want to hinder progress, a little extra vigilance won't hurt us and may provide many people with continued peace of mind.

We had a successful year at Dade County Federal, and we are in a better place than we were a year ago – but challenges remain. The economy is still facing pent-up demand, supply chain issues, and inflation fears, and many businesses are struggling to find workers, products, and inventory. However, unemployment numbers are falling, and there appear to be plenty of jobs in the market for those who want to work. But on the whole, we feel like the economy is recovering and going in the right direction. Each day things seem to get a little bit brighter.

At the same time, we know that many of our Members were negatively impacted by the pandemic and are still suffering. The credit union “movement” is well suited for times like these. At Dade County Federal, we have developed and implemented many different products and services to help Members who are struggling. If you are dealing with debt, having trouble making payments, or just feeling financially overwhelmed, we want to help. We have professionals on staff who can assist with budgeting, debt consolidation, savings plans, and even short-term loans to help bridge economic gaps and shortfalls. However, we can only help if you reach out, so please let us know if we can be of assistance. We will continue to promote helpful financial services throughout the year, and we have plans to launch others soon.

We believe the future is bright and that the economy will continue to recover. Savings rates are increasing and many of our Members who put off large purchases, vacations, and trips are starting to make new plans. Just as we helped our Members endure the tribulations of the past 21 months, we want to help you enjoy the fruits of your labors. Please let us know if we can help you save for the next dream vacation, buy that new car, refinance your property or move into your dream home.

While no one can promise a return to “normal” in the coming year, I can honestly say that I'm optimistic about the next 12 months and firmly believe that 2022 will be a year to remember – for all the right reasons.

Happy New Year,

George Joseph
