Big Brothers Big Sisters School to Work Program

Dade County Federal Credit Union has partnered with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Miami, for the 2019 – 2020 Miami-Dade County school year.

Dade County Federal Credit Union (DCFCU) is proud to work with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Miami (BBBS Miami), a nonprofit youth mentoring organization for the second consecutive school year. Together, BBBS Miami and DCFCU will have a great impact with students of Miami-Dade County to define their potential and help build the community.

BBBS Miami matches at-risk youth or Littles with adult mentors (Bigs). Seven senior staff members of Dade County federal will serve as Bigs to seven high school students. Littles will pay monthly visits to their Bigs, where there are provided with one-on-one mentoring relationships, guidance and tools that will help Littles learn and have fun.

The Littles of iTech-Miami’s Mega Technology Magnet High School have sharpened their debate skills, brainstormed small business plans, conducted mock interviews and developed strong work ethics.

“When the Littles come to visit us at the Credit Union it is always a great feeling. We have the privilege of getting to know them and being able to help them along the way” said Jessica Vasquez the Gen-You Community Liaison at DCFCU.

Jointly, BBBS Miami and DCFCU will serve our community providing the youth with programs and mentorship so that they may thrive.
