A Message From Our President

As Dade County Federal Credit Union’s employees and Members look toward the year 2021, it is impossible to not reflect on how the world has changed in the past 10 months. Our entire Credit Union family, and frankly everyone in the world, was impacted by COVID-19, which altered how we live and work. Fortunately, we were able to move swiftly at the onset of the global pandemic and make many important changes to how we interacted with Members and how we delivered our products and services.

We are grateful to our staff who worked tirelessly to offer a safe and secure environment for our Members to manage their financial affairs. It was critical that we provide the best possible working and banking environment for everyone. And I want to personally thank our Members for their patience and understanding as we worked through branch closings and limited hours of operation. Thankfully, we appear to be on a path toward a return to some level of normalcy in the year to come. My hope is that each day gets a little bit better and that things start to improve for everyone.

As time passes into the new year, we know that many of our Members are facing financial challenges. The entire global economy has been impacted, and the pandemic brings with it hardships that many of us have never encountered. At Dade County Federal, we are committed to working with all of our Members to help them with their financial plans and offer assistance to those who are struggling.

We have already worked with small business owners, through the RISE Miami-Dade Small Business Loan Program, and we also have assisted Members who have needed to defer payments on loans. With low-interest rates still available, we have also helped Members to refinance loans and enabled them to lower monthly payments on home loans. Other assistance is available.

Please know that if you are facing financial strife, we want you to call us, and we want to hear from you. We are fortunate to have an experienced staff that understands real-world challenges as well as what's happening in the financial marketplace. We are committed to providing solutions that make the most sense and help our Members improve their financial lives.

We do hope that medical developments will help all of our Members improve their lives in the coming months and that by this time next year, we will be back to something that resembles “normal.” In the meantime, we stand at the ready with programs, accounts, and services to help our Members make the most of 2021.

Happy New Year,

George Joseph
